My Mary Rose

My sweet Mary Rose just turned four! I can't believe that she is so big now and that she is my baby!! It was rough getting her here, but we have been so grateful for every day that we have had with her! She is the only child that I have who I have been privileged to spend so much one on one time. She makes me laugh so much!! She accepts me and loves me for who I am and I do the same for her. I hope we will always share the same bond that we share now and I hope she will always know how much we love her! Love you               SPECIAL!!!!

Grandma Myers with Mary Rose

WHEW!!! It has been quite a while since I updated my blog!! We have been busy!! I have been dashing around town, trying to finish up Christmas shopping and cooking like a storm, and of course seeing TWILIGHT!! I have been 4 times and counting. YES I am a freak!! Thanksgiving was fun. My sister Anna came with her husband Andrew and the twins. My aunt and my cousins came. My cousin Tony brought a WONDERFUL ham and Turkey. My sister Laura came with her husband, John, and her three boys, Chad's parents came and they brought Chad's niece Emily. All of the kids got along wonderfully well and had a great time together! We Enjoyed seeing Chad's parents and spending time with them. I do indeed have a lot to be thankful for. A few days after Thanksgiving, we decorated for Christmas. A few days after that, I turned a year older and I celebrated by making gingerbread houses with some friends, the George family. Thanks guys for making it a special day!!! I have great memories of making gingerbread houses growing up and this brought them all back. The kids had fun and I think the adults did too. Christine's house won for the prettiest house. She tells me that it didn't make it though, it was eaten!! I hope everyone has a fabulous Holiday season and a very Happy new Year. Enjoy the pictures!! Love to you all, Dawn

Happy Halloween

This is my friend Jessica. She is always looking out for me and she's a wonderful friend to have. I think Heavenly Father watches out for us and sends us fabulous friends just when we need them! She always makes me laugh until I cry!!!
I think this is Aliya. Sorry they are identical
Abigail wanted to be a banana :)
Mary Rose wanted to be Super Girl for the 3rd time
Emma wanted to be a bear

I am sick with some kind of weird virus, I have chills and a fever, but I HAVE to update my blog. Yes I am addicted. It was a wild and crazy halloween week. I am the room mom for Mary Rose's Pre school class and everything went fine. I made appearances at Abby's and Emma's parties where I ran up and down the stairs trying to split myself in two trying to be the ever fair mother. We went to the Trunk or Treat where the kids had a great time, but I was frantic the whole time because my mom was two hours late with no phone call. I made her give me the cell phone number of her boss so it won't happen again. My heart can not handle such things. My sister Anna came through town with her precious twins on the way to visit her in laws. We had lunch with them before everything got crazy with the parties.  On Halloween night, my dear friend Jessica invited us to Trick or treat with their family and a few other couples in Collierville. The girls cleaned up on candy and had a wonderful time.  Enjoy the pictures!! Love to you all, Dawn

Buckets of Fun!!!

A friend of mine made one of these for me last year. I thought I would "copy" the idea and give them as gifts to the teachers at school. It was fun! You use a plastic paint bucket, fabric, and modge podge. I thought they turned out cute! Love to you all! Dawn

Yellow Belt

Emma has been taking Taekwondo this year and she just earned her yellow belt. She has had so much fun and is really talented in it! Who knew?? She wants to someday be a black belt. I think she secretly likes the yelling part! She takes all of her frustration out that she has with her little sister!! Keep kicking Emma!!!

Pumpkin Patch

Every year we visit the pumpkin patch as a family. Every one had fun picking out their pumpkin, bringing it home, carving it(Chad's job), and eating the seeds that we toasted after. THey turned out very Halloweeny!! I love Halloween! It is the beginning of great weather and fun times!! Love to you all, Dawn

You are Beautiful!!!!

I had something really funny happen today that I had to share. I have been feeling really low lately about my weight and how I look. Today, Mary Rose and I were walking into a store and this little 4 or 5 year old boy pointed at me and said, "mommy, that lady is REALLY beautiful!! She has a really pretty necklace too. The mom and I started laughing and I told him he really made my day. For all those who think they are not beautiful, someone thinks you are!! love to you all, Dawn

My Emma Lou

                                                       Keep Rocking EMMA!!!
She has always been a goof!!!
This was the day we brought her home from the hospital
This is Emma at about 6 months

My Emma is turning 7. I can not believe how grown up she is. I am so proud of her. She is a beautiful, confident young girl who knows who she is and where she is going. She loves to be her and I love to watch her grow and become who she is. As soon as she was put in my arms, I knew Heavenly Father gave her to me as a precious gift and I have been so grateful for her every day. She makes me laugh and she touches me a great deal with the kindness that is in her heart. She says she is going to buy a house next door to me and live with me forever. I wish that comes true with all of my heart! One of my favorite quotes I have heard is, "Having a child is making the decision to have your heart go walking around outside of your body." That is my EMMA.  We had her birthday party today. It got a little crowded at the end, but I think it went well. She had a great time and LOVED all of her presents. Especially her guitar. She has wanted one for quite awhile.  Dave Sparkman got a lot more pictures than we did. I always forget to take pictures at parties, because I get so busy. When he gives them to us, I will post them. Thank you Dave!!!We love you EMMA LOU!!!!!

My Little Brother's Birthday

Every year, we try to do something positive on my brother's birthday to honor him and the joy he brought to all of our lives. This year, his birthday(Oct.9th) happened to coincide with the girls' fall break. My mom and I took the girls to Lamberts. It is a restaraunt in Sikeston, Missouri. Derrick loved to take dates there and he loved the food. The girls love to catch the rolls. We found a huge park there too for the kids to run around in. We had a little mishap that caused a 5 hour trip to be a 10 hour trip, but I am not confessing to it for the sake of Marital harmony. I am positive Chad gets really tired of the dumb things I do, so this time, I told him I just would leave that part out of it and not tell him what I did. (He reads the blog). We did have a great time. Friday, Chad took the day off and we took the kids to Graceland. I have lived here my whole life and have never been there. Derricks nickname was always Elvis. He looked freakishly like him. We thought it fitting. The girls thought it was really cool Especially the plane. I had them go around the parking lot and look at all the license plates to see how many people from all over the world come and see Graceland. Emma said he must have been really rich and had at least 1000$. I still miss my brother every day, but it helps to do something positive where we laugh and have a good time. I am sure he would want it that way. We took the pictures of Graceland on a disposable camera because we forgot ours. I can't figure out how to download them so use your imagination. It was great! love to you all, Dawn

This Little Piggy Went Where????

I heard Mary Rose yesterday singing to herself, so I sat down beside her to see what she was singing. She was singing, "This little piggy went to TARGET, this little piggy stayed home." I think it is official now, I spend way too much time at Target. :) Love to you all, Dawn

GNO and the lichterman nature center

Emma and I recently had a girls night out just the two of us. We were celebrating a week of homework with no tears. Yeah!!! We got all dressed up and had a great time!! Today we went to the lichterman nature center. I haven't been there since I was a child. It was really fun! They had a lot of crafts to do with the kids and an obstacle course where they pretended to be birds. They had a live animal show where they got to pet a snake, a pigeon, a BIG bullfrog and a possum. YES a possum. I thought that one was gross, but the others were pretty neat. The kids all had to raise their hands when they had a question. Mary Rose figured she had to as well, but she could only think of one question . She kept asking, "does them have teeth?" She asked this about every animal. The man was really nice about it and answered yes each time. She thought she was really big!! On Wednesdays they have raindrop kids for 3-5 year olds where they learn about animals and make a craft. Mary Rose and I will be there Wednesday if anyone wants to join us! Love to you all, Dawn

Spirit Week

This was too funny not to share. The girls had spirit week at school this week. One of the days, Emma's class had to dress up as a famous person who wears a hat, and Abby had to dress up as a character in Peter Pan. For Family home evening, the family made Emma a Cat in the Hat costume. It was mainly Chad's idea. I thought it was hilarious. Today they had to dress as celebrities. Emma was Johnny Depp from Pirates of the Caribbean and Abby was Miley Cyrus.  Chad thought Emma's missing tooth added a lot to her costume!:)

Girls Just Want To Have Fun!!!

We just got back from a fun weekend  in Nashville. We had a free weekend, so my mom and I headed out of town with the girls. We went to the Adventure Science Museum, The Rain Forest Cafe and to the Opryland Hotel. The girls had a great time! They loved all of the activities at the museum. Emma was the only one who would try out the moon walk. She said it was fun, but the straps hurt her shoulders. They had an inertia lesson where the kids could pull on some ropes and pulleys to lift a full sized car. It was hilarious watching Mary Rose do it!! I promised them we would go see the dancing waters at the Opryland Hotel, we went there  Sunday Morning only to find out that they only do the dancing waters at night time.  Oh well, I tried!! They still had fun dancing under the gazebo. I loved hanging out with them and watching my mom have so much fun with them too!! Great trip! love to you all! Dawn
